Angela’s migraine attacks began at the age of 7, only back then they were branded as headache. During puberty they became more frequent and were chronic throughout her 20’s and 30’s.
Angela tried ALL the meds and homeopathy alongside. She saw a pain management specialist, had the occipital nerve injections which reduced to a dull pain in the short term but proved less effective overall.
Taking us through her catalyst for change and what she really wanted over the band aid approach she had come to realise was the case, Angela got clear on two things that were now of paramount importance to her;
seeking out a long term approach and
embarking on the journey of research to find it!
In 2019, she watched a random documentary on Netflix (now on Prime); The Magic Pill where she learned about neuro-healing diet, Keto.
At this stage Angela was ready to try ANYTHING.
Sharing the journey of getting started and the kind of barriers we’re all familiar with having to overcome when it come to creating drastic change in our lives that loved one are not used to witnessing. Also, the journey this adventure took her on in respect of deepening her insight and understanding of the impact on the brain of the foods we eat.
Coinciding with listening to her body and becoming more intuitive to rhythmic cycles.
Angela highlights the non-linear aspect of the journey. Initially noticing a drastic decrease in severity AND frequency of attack to going into remission, coming out of it and back into it.
Lessons learned, feelings felt and her 3 biggest takeaways for you dear listener.
Topped off with the key to staying steady, knowing that the journey was going to be hard.
We end with where Angela’s life is now and what’s coming next!
My personal takeaway was learning to ask myself the question
What makes my brain happy?
And on reflection post recording, rather than seeing keto as “strict” as I refer to it as in the recording, I would prefer to use the word simple. Living the simple life has become key to my healing. What I used to see as a strict way of eating has come to benefit my body and health as I’ve learned to focus on what I can eat instead of what I can’t.
Dear listener, what’s your biggest takeaway?

Neuro healing diet, Keto - this is a great article on what keto is, who it is and isn’t suitable for and the benefits you might experience. As with any dietary changes, check with your doctor for contra-indications to any medications you may be taking. Research any changes you wish to make and ensure they align with what you it is you want, as well as what you are looking to achieve.
The Magic Pill - I’ve since watched this documentary on the back of Angela’s recommendation, it’s an eye-opener. Empowering and incredibly insightful. A game-changing watch.
I ran a 5 part series on adopting an anti-inflammatory way of eating if you’d like to delve even further into this topic.
