Thank you for sharing my story. I hope it can bring someone some relief and am forever grateful that God led me through the wilderness to find peace, even though it was the hardest journey. Jesus is so good to me. I cannot do anything without Him. This was all his work, not my own.
You’re so welcome! I haven’t listened to it yet either! Don’t mind tuning in whilst I’m driving and hearing my voice that way so might stick it on on the drive to the cinema.
For me, I’ve come to see it as a co-creation with spirit rather than an either/or. A surrendering to what is and an alignment.
Meeting with you the first time round showed me the importance of that spiritual connection and the significant part this played in my own healing (whether we speak of it as god, Jesus, the universe or in whichever way truly holds meaning to us).
It's taken me a little while but I've updated the mid section of this post as discussed directly and added the above links. It reads much better now and I'm sure, lands more deeply with the reader.
What a cracking conversation! I absolutely loved @Chanel’s perspective on you and your journey. The way the wellness industry tries to make healing something to capitalise on when actually you don’t need all the supplements or gym memberships. You just got to know your health matters! I loved so many parts of this interview. Thank you to both of you, Chanel for sharing and Amber for getting it out into the world. Weirdly I’ve been feeling and getting signs from the universe about chiropractor, and I have a contact for one, so this feels like a little nudge to get booked in. ❤️
Thank you so much for this comment and for listening, Sheila. I think you should go! I am grateful Amber encouraged me to trust my gut on my neck being a problem and that I went otherwise I’d still be trying to convince specialists to investigate something they weren’t interested in.
When I went back to a new primary doctor after my significant healing she was shocked and told me she doesn’t know anything about the work chiropractors do. Seriously? The gatekeeper for insurance approval doesn’t know? Crazy.
It’s so easy for us to dismiss people to the extent that not even medical training and allllll the certificates change that.
Reading Unwell Women has been really insightful into understanding how this has come to be.
Gaslighting and dismissing patients has always been acceptable. I do believe we can change that though - for the benefit of everyone, not just the few.
Systems will improve, health will too. Healing will happen.
So proud of you Chanel for leading the way! And sharing your story so we can all learn 💜
I think I might just do that, I do love a good click in the back so I’ll probably enjoy it. I used to go to one years ago after a riding accident, my mum swears by them for her back pain.
I remember a gynaecologist telling me that physio or pelvic floor physio would work for endometriosis related pain, her face was one of ‘you’re an idiot’ and was really dismissive. Turns out it can! It’s been a crucial tool in my tool box.
We live in our bodies 24 hours a day seven days a week, a doctor will never know our bodies like we do but they seem to qualify aloof and with a feeling of being superior.
I’m so happy you’ve found a key to unlocking this pain for you. I really agree with what you’re saying, it was one part but not the whole picture. I too have one thing that really helped but I’ve also done so many other tiny things that help that big thing.
I really hope the time difference works out that you can join us for healing through writing! ✍️
