I met Sarah as a nails client one Christmas a few years ago.
In her late 20’s at this time, Sarah shared with me she’d had throat cancer and was now living with an under-active thyroid.
Her energy levels were as low as mine, with me living with chronic fatigue at the time of having had only recently broken the chronic pain cycle.
We started walking together, during a time where our pace was so slow I’m pretty sure snails could overtake us. But we stuck to our motto of “doing what we can, when we can”.
I’ve been working with her as a client, alongside our friendship developing, ever since.
Because what I offer is so much more than a treatment, the transformation in Sarah extends far beyond the subsequent facials, bodywork and other treatments that she’s received since.
So much so, that during one session – and completely unbeknown to me at the time – she went home and created her own vision board.
When she announced her engagement some months later, she shared with me that time spent with me had helped her get clear on what she really wanted and she got to work on bringing that in. An engagement ring was one of the first pictures to go on her vision board as she realised she was with the person she wanted to marry and live her life with.
During my Yoga Teacher Training that same year, I put into practice what I was learning with Sarah. Together, we covered the training materials (which really helped imbed the learning for me as well as sharing the learning with her) and did some breathwork.
After turning 30, Sarah was told by the doctors she was borderline diabetic.
Determined not to seal her fate, she set about making changes. Some of them we covered and some learnt elsewhere.
She went on to:
Cut the 3 or 4 sugars she was having a day out of her tea
Switch to drinking herbal teas
Eat a wider range of anti-inflammatory foods such as hummus and fruit
Continue regular walks by nature
Attend a line dancing class once a week
Carry on with breathwork practice a few times weekly
Write a book she has always wanted to write
Journal
View her predicament as happening in a good frame of time in her life (right before her wedding day, gifting her the opportunity to make changes now and leave her feeling fabulous in her dress).
When she returned to the doctors and was informed she had successfully reversed diabetes one year later, he said
“I don’t know how you’ve done it”.
Recently, Sarah came to visit and booked in for the super expansive Bodywork Channelling treatment that I offer, here at my holiday home in 7 Lakes Country Park.
It takes an incredible amount of trust and it’s imperative that a client feels safe with me during such an expansive experience.
It is always an honour and a privilege to hold space for another in this way. Yet when a client knows me as well as this one does – and I them – it adds another layer to it.
As is the case with each channelling treatment I do, it took off in a different direction to any other.
In letting go of certain elements of her past, harboured emotions and making peace with loss, she was able to move towards her future and all that she desired more freely. To mention only but a few of the deeply healing shifts that took place there and then.
After treatment Sarah felt completely de-stressed and feeling as if she had let a weight go.
We discussed starting points and thrashed around ideas for her future vision now she is married, is having the piano lessons she had so long desired but never got round to and is benefitting from increased energy levels as well as improved health. Oh, and a few ideas and increased clarity on her change of career that she sees supporting her future vision.
When I think back to the pair of us when we first met, I cannot believe the transformation and how far we’ve both come.
If you were to ask Sarah any questions about her healing journey this year or in general, what would you want to know?
Warrior Unleashed is a series I share on the 1st of every other month.
Here is the last one detailing a client who is disabled by arthritis and also lives with fibromyalgia, arterial tinnitus and a heart condition.
The next one upcoming in a couple of months will be based on a client who has prostate cancer who has reduced his PSA test from 33.3 to 2.9 in only 3 months.
I work both in person and online with warriors from all walks of life. Taking people on expansive journeys that catapult them towards life-changing transformation.
My Substack is intended to share with you enough so that you may never need work with me. But for those of you who would like to take your journey with me further, you can either join our Healing Through Writing group which will be paywalled, starting next month -
Or you can email me at amberhorrox@yahoo.co.uk to find out more about 2 month online journey, The Warrior’s Path and any of the Retreat With Me experiences that I host from my holiday home in 7 Lakes Country Park, Crowle (England).
I love that “the shepherd of someone else’s support” - thank you for the encouragement and support🙏🥰
