The buzz word, the ever elusive, one of the most sought-after qualities of this century! But what exactly is it? What does it mean? & what does it look/feel like?
Hi Amber - so much to take in here! I feel like there's just so much we encompass in a word called "balance" while living in a culture that quite frankly doesn't value balance and doesn't build its structures for health at all. At least not where I live. Thanks for linking me to this post. I need to mull it over more.
It’s such a wife and vast topic for conversation isn’t it!? I felt that Ariel in the Little Mermaid put it well when she spoke of “reign and rule” as having no respect for balance. I’m wondering if it’s something that only we can bring in? It’s been the best, possibly most life saving, thing I’ve ever done. I can’t wait to read more of your musings around the topic. Where is it that you live? I know the Netherlands have more respect for balance than we do. Better work systems and structures, health, family etc. I can only imagine these changes will be made here in the uk over time. It’s just a question of what it’ll cost us in the meantime and what it’ll take us to wake up to our need for it.
I agree. I live in the middle of the US, in states that are sadly controlled by people who are all about profit and greed and couldn't give a....about personal well being. We are pretty much on our own!
I think you guys have it worse than us from what limited facts/information I have and understand. Though I don’t think we’re that far behind you. I’ve definitely been an outcast of society since finding myself completely disabled by illness. Only to find I was expected to stay there and remain just as isolated in my fight for freedom from ill health. The tables are turning for me now I’ve come as far as I have. I hope they are for you too xxx
I don't suppose comparisons are helpful really. We find ourselves having to find a way to live that feels out of alignment with the culture in order to live in alignment with nature and ourselves. I felt like an outcast once too - and now I'm starting to feel like I wasn't so much outcast as a door opened to a more natural world where I am now included. (How I feel about this varies from day to day!)
So thought provoking, inspiring and exciting to hear another person prioritising their health, letting go of trying to control outcomes, to listen to their body instead. It's a huge shift breaking free of the social constructs around us. Approaching things from being guided by our intuition, trusting it will lead us to our dream lives - which have seemed (personally) in some point in the past impossible to achieve. That's the beauty of co-creating with our planets energies, even ones so many people deny exist. You are proof magical things happen when you set on on a journey of self discovery & healing. Congratulations, you so deserve all that has & is coming to you. Thank you for sharing your heartwarming experiences.

Thank you so much for your detailed and insightful experiences. I’d like to turn your reflections into a post if that ok with you?
It sounds like you prioritise a low-demand lifestyle, which I wrote about here: https://neurodivergentnotes.substack.com/p/living-a-low-demand-lifestyle
