When me and Ben spoke two weeks before last about the tragedy of Nik no longer being with us,
I spent the whole day processing memories.
Magical. Golden. Special. Memories.
Memories made in a lifetime. For a lifetime.
Nights together spent on the dancefloor.
Moving freely. Finding freedom.
Uniting in song. In dance.
Passion. Storm. And one of his favourites, Sundissential.
Festivals: Creamfields and Global Gathering.
Ibiza: Café Mambo, Eden, Amnesia
Dressing up. Fluffy boots. Short skirts.
And that was just Nick.
Looking ridiculous some might say.
For Nick, it was about uniting. Uniting as a group. All of us, together.
Immersed and embracing one of his greatest passions: Music.
So many shared times together. Memories that went beyond the dancefloor.
Hikes in nature.
Wild camping by the river.
Nik, as the leader.
As the news of Nik’s passing, shared amongst his long-standing and treasured friendships,
Memories of Nik’s nature bursting into the forefront of our hearts, of our minds.
A collection of his greatest attributes, spilling out into heartfelt messages, from one friend and another and another:
Thoughtful
Personal
A deep thinker
Genuine
Loyal
“I have a photo of Nik. He jumped into a pile of leaves” shared Ric. “Sums him up. He dived into life. Just the spontaneity of the guy”.
The last message Nik sent me. One of his favourite banging tunes to one of his favourite movies: The Lost Boys.
It feels like some kind of parting gift right now.
His final words in the message:
“If this doesn’t float your boat, you need to turn the base up!”
I hope what I share with you today, sums up his zest for life. His earthly nature.
Lit up by the beat of the base or the calling of the great countryside.
Nick, you are dearly missed.
Leaving us numb to your absence.
Adventures and memories galore, etched in our hearts.
Forever more.
Thank you for these gifts.
Beautiful words and a wonderful tribute to your friend Amber.
Incredible Amber, sorry for your loss, grateful for your words and capturing the incredible spirit of Nik. ✨🙏
